Inclusivity of the military hospital
The team of architects at the initiative of URBAN BURO proposes and presents a preliminary concept for the development of the area of the square at the 8th station of Lyustdorf Road.
Project Description
The team of specialists at Urban Buro developed a project for improving the area of the Odessa military hospital, focusing on enhancing mobility between the buildings and throughout the entire territory.
Main issues:
Infrastructure Damage
Uneven and damaged surfaces of pathways and driveways.
In some places, there is no asphalt or hard surface.
Accessibility and Inclusivity
Lack of drop-downs and ramps at level changes.
Difficult access for people with disabilities and low mobility groups.
Parking and Traffic Safety
Chaotic parking without clear organization.
Insufficient parking spots for people with disabilities.
Pedestrian Logistics and Navigation
Absence of safe crossings between the buildings.
No clear navigation system and signs.
Our team conducted an analysis of the Military Hospital area and the adjacent streets, and developed solutions for implementing inclusive standards and norms in the studied territory.
This solution was presented to the hospital administration.
Its implementation will allow:
to create a new inclusive environment for the hospital's patients;
to improve the safety and comfort of visitors and staff;
to elevate the level of medical care in Odessa;
to ensure barrier-free movement to the hospital area.
The implementation is carried out in collaboration with various experts to ensure effective and practical changes.
How we do it
1
Idea
We conduct a detailed analysis of the territory, study user needs, and formulate technical specifications. This is the foundation for future changes.
2
Concept
We develop the visual vision of the project, zoning, and functional scenarios. You receive the first sketches and an understanding of how the space will look.
3
Project
We create a complete set of working documentation: drawings, material specifications, and estimates required by builders for precise implementation.
